No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code to allow a court to award reasonable attorney's fee and suit-related costs incurred by a party in a divorce or child support suit resulting from the suit being moved from state to federal court.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
