No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 656.051 of the Government Code, relating to training and certification requirements for state agency purchasing personnel. The bill would provide an exception to the requirements for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) personnel whose duties primarily relate to contracts for highway construction, engineering, and certain other professional or consulting services.

Based on the information and analysis provided by TxDOT, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal or operational impact to the agency.
