No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require certain notices of epizootic infectious disease occurring in an animal shelter.
According to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS), because the diseases of concern (e.g., parvovirus, canine distemper, and felinerhinotracheitis) are not transmissible to humans the bill would have no impact on the agency.
Local Government Impact
According to DSHS, no fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
According to Harris County, no significant fiscal impact from the bill is anticipated.
According to Williamson County, while the fiscal effect of the bill cannot be determined the bill could create a negative perception about the health of animals adopted from shelters.
