FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 7, 2019

TO:
Honorable Charles Perry, Chair, Senate Committee on Water & Rural Affairs

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3142 by Guillen (Relating to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality reminders to public drinking water supply systems regarding reporting requirements.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to require the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to provide automatic reminders to public drinking water systems about regular reporting requirements applicable to the systems, to minimize non-compliance with state and federal drinking water regulations. This analysis assumes the agency can absorb these responsibilities within existing resources and no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
