IN RE:
HB3311 by Romero, Jr. (relating to the verification of the veteran status of inmates and prisoners.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the government Code as it relates to the verification of an offender's veteran status. According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS), and the Texas Veterans Commission, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to TCJS, there may be a fiscal impact to local governments; however, this analysis assumes the impact is not anticipated to be significant.
