No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the government Code as it relates to the verification of an offender's veteran status. According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS), duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources.

According to TCJS, there may be a fiscal impact to local governments; however, this analysis assumes the impact is not anticipated to be significant.
