FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB3414 by Sanford (Relating to alternative equal access times of possession under a standard possession order in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code to allow a parent to make an election in certain circumstances to increase the possession of a child provided for in a standard custody and visitation order as long as the court finds it is not contrary to the child's best interest.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
