May 16, 2019

TO:
Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3503 by Anderson, Charles "Doc" (Relating to firearms training for county jailers.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to firearms training for county jailers could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, Ector County already provides firearm training to jailers and pays the jailers overtime to conduct the training. Therefore, Ector County does not anticipate a fiscal impact to their county.
