LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 10, 2019

TO:
Honorable James White, Chair, House Committee on Corrections

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3529 by Gutierrez (Relating to a domestic violence pilot program.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to the establishment of a domestic violence pilot program. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice indicates that the costs to implement the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
