IN RE:
HB3570 by Ramos (Relating to continuing judicial training regarding family violence victims.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require a judge to complete at least one hour of training on family violence and its effect on victims during each term of office and require a judge of a court that primarily hears family law cases to complete an additional two hours of training on family violence and its effect on victims.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
