No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill amends the criteria for qualifying projects for public-private partnerships to include any information technology infrastructure, including broadband or telecommunications infrastructure, installed in a structure or facility owned by a governmental entity. The bill would prohibit a government entity who has approved a qualifying information technology project from competing with a private entity in providing telecommunications services.
According to the Department of Information Resources, there would be no fiscal impact.
