No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Family Code to require the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to conduct an in-person meeting at least once a month with children in conservatorship and document the results of the meeting.
The bill would require DFPS to submit a quarterly report with information related to caseworker visits.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
It is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
