No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would amend the Government Code relating to the confidentiality of the e-mail address of an applicant for or holder of a license issued by a state agency. Based on information provided by the Department of Licensing and Regulation and the Office of the Attorney General, this analysis assumes that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2019.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
