John McGeady, Assistant Director Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB3659 by Turner, Chris (Relating to liability insurance requirements for certain child-care providers.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to require licensed child care homes, registered child care homes, and listed family homes to obtain and maintain liability insurance. According to HHSC, these provisions would require application and system modifications to display inspection dates for listed and registered family homes. LBB analysis of HHSC indicates that the agency could complete the provisions of the bill within existing resources.
The Department of Family and Protective Services does not anticipate a fiscal impact as a result of implementing the bill.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
