No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require certain municipalities to establish mental health assessment programs for police officers and firefighters involved in a certain critical incidents.  Requires a mental health assessment following these incidents, prohibits retaliation for participation in the program, and specifies that the assessment is confidential.

Local Government Impact

According to the City of Houston, the bill is anticipated to have an annual cost to the city of $100,000 per year.
