No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code and the Government Code to permit a member of the armed forces to participate in a marriage ceremony via proxy or videoconferencing supported by a signed affidavit and would authorize a justice of the peace to provide certain specified videoconference technology for the ceremony.
According to the Office of Court Administration (OCA), no significant impact to the state court system is anticipated.
