IN RE:
HB3882 by Wilson (Relating to safety training for certain public school extracurricular activities.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Education Code relating to safety training for certain public school extracurricular activities. Under provisions of the bill, the University Interscholastic League (UIL), rather than the Commissioner of Education, would have the responsibility to develop and adopt an extracurricular activity safety training program. The bill also includes language that UIL rather than a school district shall provide training to students participating in extracurricular athletic activity. Based on information provided by The University of Texas System, UIL is already performing the requirements of the bill, therefore there would be no impact to The University of Texas at Austin.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
