IN RE:
HB3891 by Martinez Fischer (Relating to the definition of "governmental unit" for purposes of the Texas Tort Claims Act.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code to include in the definition of a governmental unit for purposes of the Texas Tort Claim Act units of political subdivision, including municipally owned water utilities. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
