Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs
FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB3965 by Bohac (relating to the countywide polling place program.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Based on analysis by the Secretary of State and the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to the countywide polling place program could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, a fiscal impact on counties is anticipated. However, the dollar amount of this impact cannot be determined because it would depend on how often a polling place were directed by court order to remain open and the total number of polling places affected by the court order.
