No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to modify the manner in which a crime control and prevention district is dissolved and in which any associated sales and use tax is abolished. The bill would stipulate that if a district is to be dissolved as a result of a failed continuation referendum, the abolition of the local crime control sales and use tax takes effect on the date the district is dissolved.
According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the bill would have no revenue implications and would have no fiscal impact on the state.
