FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB4103 by White (Relating to the discretionary sealing of certain juvenile records.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Family Code to modify existing procedures concerning the sealing of certain juvenile records.
According to the Office of Court Administration (OCA), although the bill requires a juvenile court to hold a hearing prior to ordering the sealing of a person's records, the inclusion of a wavier provision should help courts absorb any new case volume with existing court resources. No significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
According to OCA, no significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill would not have a fiscal impact on counties.
