No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to repeal various offenses related to license plate flippers.
The offenses repealed by the bill are a Class B or Class C misdemeanor.
Local Government Impact
A Class B misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of not more than $2,000, confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days, or both. A Class C misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of not more than $500. In addition to the fine, punishment can include up to 180 days of deferred disposition.
