No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code to create a contractual appraisal process to resolve disputes over the amount of a loss covered by the contract. The bill would prohibit a party from invoking the process later than 60 days after receiving notice of a dispute which may be subject to the process. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
