IN RE:
HB4224 by Reynolds (Relating to a study to evaluate state and local regulation of group homes.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to study the state and local regulation of group homes. The scope and recommendations of the study would include state laws, procedures for filing complaints, complaints filed since 2009, and the enforcement authority over group homes granted to state and local government agencies. HHSC would complete and deliver the report not later than December 1, 2020.
HHSC indicates that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
