IN RE:
HB4270 by Wu (Relating to the authority of a municipal management district to provide public education facilities and public education-related supplemental services.), As Engrossed
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to extend an existing authorization for municipal management districts to provide certain services to include public education facilities.
According to the Texas Education Agency (TEA), no fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
According to TEA, the bill could decrease costs of public schools that benefit from municipally funded education-related facilities and supplemental services (such as transportation of public school students). Such cost-savings are, however, too speculative to estimate.
According to the Texas Municipal League, the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact on cities.
