LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 13, 2019

TO:
Honorable Larry Taylor, Chair, Senate Committee on Education

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4310 by Dutton (Relating to a school district's scope and sequence for subjects in the required curriculum for public school students.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to teacher instructional time could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

Districts would be required to ensure sufficient time is provided for teachers to teach and students to learn the required curriculum, which is already a requirement in administrative rule. Consequently, there should be no significant fiscal impact for school districts.
