May 7, 2019

TO:

FROM:

IN RE:
HB4374 by Murr (Relating to liability of prescribed burn directors in connection with prescribed burns.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code to define liability for damages resulting from a prescribed burn in excess of insurance requirements under circumstances identified in the bill. Based on the analysis of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed with existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
