No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would create the Environmental Task Force Advisory Committee to review and provide recommendations to the Railroad Commission related to the agency's environmental regulatory functions. Based on analysis of the Railroad Commission and the Commission on Environmental Quality, any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019. The section of law and the Task Force Advisory Committee created by the bill would expire on September 1, 2023.
