No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require certain municipally owned utilities to have two sources of water supply and would require utilities that do not meet this provision to immediately acquire one or more alternative sources of water.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Municipal League, for municipally owned utilities covered by the provisions of this bill the cost cannot be determined but could be substantial.
