TO:
Honorable Trey Martinez Fischer, Chair, House Committee on Business & Industry

FROM:

Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4518 by Martinez Fischer (Relating to the privacy of a consumer's personal information collected by certain businesses; imposing a civil penalty.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Based on analysis by the Office of Court Administration, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill relating to consumer protection could be absorbed using existing resources. Analysis by the Office of the Attorney General indicates that additional resources may be needed to accommodate opinion requests and to enforce the provisions of the bill, but it is assumed that these costs can be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
