LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 9, 2019

TO:
Honorable Garnet Coleman, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4532 by Hunter (Relating to the development and posting by county governments of lists of local mental health resources available to the public.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require each county to post on the county's Internet website a comprehensive list of local mental health resources available in the county to the public.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact on counties. County websites are hosted and maintained by the county or by the Texas Association of Counties' County Information Resource Agency (CIRA). CIRA hosts and maintains the websites of 154 counties, and expects the cost of providing links to mental health resources on county websites to be negligible.
