LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 86TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 18, 2019

TO:
Honorable Dade Phelan, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director     Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director
Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB4541 by Cyrier (relating to the authority of the Texas Facilities Commission over certain real property owned by the state.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time.

Analysis by the Texas Facilities Commission indicates that the provisions of the bill relating to the disposition of real property outside of the Capitol Complex would have a positive fiscal impact to the state. The sale of facilities would provide one-time and ongoing savings in the form of sales proceeds and maintenance cost avoidance. However, because the frequency and number of potential dispositions cannot be reasonably estimated, the fiscal impact to the state cannot be determined at this time.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
