HJR36 by Deshotel (Proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the operation of casino gaming in certain coastal areas of this state by licensed persons to provide additional money for residual windstorm insurance coverage and catastrophic flooding assistance in the coastal areas; providing for certification or licensing of persons engaged in occupations related to casino gaming.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $177,289.

The amendment would allow, and require legislation authorizing, casino gaming in the state to provide additional revenue for windstorm insurance coverage and catastrophic flooding assistance in the coastal areas. Although legally allowed to operate in the state, any impact to revenue would depend on the required enabling legislation.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
