No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $177,289.
The resolution would propose an amendment to the Texas Constitution to provide that a person may be denied bail pending trial if a judge or magistrate determines that requiring bail is insufficient to ensure the person's appearance in court or the safety of the alleged victim or community.
The proposed amendment would be submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019.
