No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.

The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $177,289.

The resolution would propose an amendment to the Texas Constitution to exempt judges from county courts at law, county criminal courts, county probate courts, and county domestic relations courts from the list of officers subject to automatic resignation upon announcement for candidacy for an office other than the one held if the unexpired term of that office exceeds 1 year and 30 days.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
