IN RE:
HJR72 by White (Proposing a constitutional amendment permitting a person to hold more than one office as a municipal judge at the same time.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $177,289.
It is assumed that the provisions of the resolution relating to municipal office holders could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
Based on analysis by the Texas Municipal League, the provisions of the bill relating to municipal judges may result in cost savings for smaller political subdivisions. However, due to the uncertainty in these assumptions the fiscal implications of the bill on local government cannot be determined at this time.
