Fiscal Analysis

The bill would require the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to conduct a study regarding appropriate methods and standards to evaluate the performance of certain students who spend at least 50 percent of the instructional day participating in a regional day school program for the deaf and whose parents live outside the school district providing program services.

Methodology

TEA assumes it would contract with a vendor to conduct the study of appropriate evaluation techniques for a cost of $250,000 in fiscal year 2020.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
