SB286 by Miles (Relating to the power of certain counties to enact park use rules.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to allow a board of park commissioners in certain counties to create reasonable rules concerning the use of parks administered by the board.

The offense created by this bill would be a Class C misdemeanor.

According to the Parks and Wildlife Department, there would be no fiscal impact to the agency.

Local Government Impact

A Class C misdemeanor is punishable by a fine of not more than $500.  In addition to the fine, punishment can include up to 180 days of deferred disposition. Costs associated with enforcement and prosecution could likely me absorbed within existing resources.  Revenue gain from fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.
