IN RE:
SB428 by Lucio (Relating to a study of using a single intake form for state and federal disaster assistance.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission and the Texas Division of Emergency Management conduct a study to determine the feasibility of developing a single intake form for multiple state and federal disaster assistance programs and an automated intake system. The agencies would also work with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to determine whether a single intake form would be acceptable to other appropriate state and federal agencies. The commission and division would submit a written report of their findings to the legislature not later than September 1, 2020.
It is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
