SB446 by West (Relating to requiring a public employer to give notice to new employees of the ability of certain employees to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require public employers to notify new employees that they may be eligible to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program administered by the United States Department of Education. The provisions of the bill would not apply if the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program is discontinued or not funded.

It is assumed that the provisions of the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Association of Counties, no significant fiscal implication to counties is anticipated.
