No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to require the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to collaborate with county child welfare boards, collect publicly available financial data from the boards, and develop a standardized form for collecting certain financial data from county child welfare boards. The boards would be required to report the financial data on the form to DFPS annually. The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
 
According to DFPS, the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.
