SB511 by Rodríguez (Relating to the installation of unsafe motor vehicle tires; providing a civil penalty.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to create an offense for knowingly installing unsafe motor vehicle tires. The offense created would be a civil penalty.

According to the Office of Court Administration (OCA), the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact to the state court system.

Local Government Impact

An offense under the provisions of the bill is a civil penalty punishable by a fine not to exceed $500. Lost revenue from reduced fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.

According to OCA, any case volume driven by the bill should be absorbed by existing resources. No significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
