SB511 by Rodríguez (Relating to the installation of unsafe motor vehicle tires; creating a criminal offense.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to create an offense for installing unsafe motor vehicle tires. The offense created would be a misdemeanor punishable by fine only.

According to the Office of Court Administration (OCA), the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact to the state court system.

Local Government Impact

An offense under the provisions of the bill is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $100 or more than $500. Lost revenue from reduced fines imposed and collected is not anticipated to have a significant fiscal impact.

According to OCA, any case volume driven by the bill should be absorbed by existing resources. No significant fiscal impact to local courts is anticipated.
