IN RE:
SB594 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the creation of a business advisory council on disaster recovery and mitigation.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code to establish the business advisory council to provide advice to the Land Commissioner on disaster recovery and mitigation issues. Members of the advisory council would be selected by the Land Commissioner and would not be entitled to compensation, though they would be eligible for reimbursement for travel expenses. The business advisory council would be required to submit a report every two years on the council's activities, advice, and proposed solutions. Based on the analysis of the General Land Office, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
