No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would provide for rates and charges by the Red River Authority for the sale or use of water be subject to review by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC). The PUC anticipates that the bill would have no significant fiscal impact and that the provisions of the bill could be implemented using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

The bill would implement recommendations made by the Sunset Advisory Commission (Commission) regarding the Red River Authority (RRA). According to the Commission, provisions of the bill can be absorbed by RRA within existing resources and no significant fiscal implication is anticipated.
