SB636 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the enforcement of commercial motor vehicle safety standards in certain municipalities.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to add certain municipalities to an existing certification to apply to enforce commercial motor vehicle safety standards.

According to the Department of Public Safety, no fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

The bill could have a positive, significant fiscal impact to units of local government depending on the number of enforcement actions undertaken and the amount of fines imposed, however an estimate of this impact cannot be determined at this this time.
