IN RE:
SB646 by Birdwell (Relating to approval for purchases of property or construction projects by a state agency with self-directed semi-independent status.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require a Self-Directed Semi-Independent (SDSI) agency to request an analysis by the Facilities Commission of purchase or construction plans to determine if any available state-owned property or building satisfies the agency's need. The bill would require an SDSI to submit the analysis and purchase or construction plan to the Governor to obtain written authorization before allocating money for the purchase of real property or to construct a building on real property.
