Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs
FROM:
John McGeady, Assistant Director Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB902 by Hughes (relating to public availability of election records; authorizing a fee.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Based on analysis by the Secretary of State, the provisions of the bill relating to publically posting elections records would result in one-time implementation costs and ongoing maintenance and support costs for the Texas Elections Administration Management (TEAM) system and the agency's public website. It is assumed that these costs could be absorbed within existing resources.
Based on analysis by the Comptroller of Public Accounts, there would be no fiscal or revenue impact to the state.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
