SB1000 by Watson (Relating to the municipal regulation of housing for homeless individuals provided by a religious organization.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to prohibit a land use or zoning ordinance that would prohibit a religious organization from using its facility, or having housing units, to house homeless individuals.  The bill specifies the regulations of such housing that could be imposed.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League, no significant impact from the bill is anticipated.
