No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 223 of the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to submit for competitive bids each contract for traffic control or safety devices to be used on a highway that is part of the state highway system.
Based on the information and analysis provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.
